Toyota Motor's subsidiary Toyota Motor North America will start the export of the Venza crossover vehicles assembled in the US to Russia and Ukraine through the port of Brunswick, Georgia.

The export is expected to further increase the shipments of the company that grew to over 124,000 units to 21 global markets a 45% growth in 2012 against the previous year.

Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) executive director Curtis Foltz said that the new partnership with Toyota highlights the GPA's commitment to service for automakers.

"Because of our direct interstate access and two Class I rail services, we can move exports from inland factories more efficiently, as well as move import cargo to destinations across the Southeast," Foltz added.

Toyota Motor North America president and COO Shigeki Terashi said: "We expect the export of Venza vehicles to Russia and Ukraine will help further solidify our US manufacturing base."

The carmaker expects to export about 5,000units of Venza vehicles per year to Russia and Ukraine after the production begins in April 2013 at its Georgetown plant in Kentucky, US.
